Day 1: Mae Wang
Your adventure begins with a 1.5-hour transfer from your hotel to the Mae Wang Trailhead, where you’ll start your ride. Today’s route will take you through Karen hill tribe villages, along a mix of concrete and dirt roads. You might even pass by some elephant camps, as this area is home to several.
You’ll enjoy lunch at a local village, and in the afternoon, you’ll transfer to Mountain View Home Stay. At the homestay, you’ll be welcomed by the Kwanchai Family, who will prepare your meals and host you for the night.
Day 1 Highlights:
- Pickup and transfer to Mae Wang Trailhead.
- Riding through Karen hill tribe villages.

Day 2: Ride into Doi Inthanon
After breakfast at the homestay, you’ll ride up to Khun Puai Village, again passing through Karen hill tribe villages on concrete roads. The route then takes you into Doi Inthanon National Park.
The first ride is 19 km, ending at a river, where you’ll transfer to a lunch spot within the National Park. Following lunch, a short 10-minute transfer brings you to the starting point of the second ride. The first 7 km of this ride will be on a dirt road with some rocks, offering a slightly more challenging ride through Mong Flower and Fruit farms.
The route then joins a new concrete road, passing more tribal villages and their rice farms, where you might witness the rice harvesting season. Finally, you’ll ride to Phamon village for another homestay experience.
Day 2 Highlights:
- Riding from the homestay to Khun Puai Village.
- Riding through Doi Inthanon National Park.
- Riding through Mong Flower and Fruit farms.
- Passing tribal villages and rice farms.
- Homestay experience in Phamon village.
Cycling Distance: 35 km total (19 km + approximately 16 km)
Day 3: Doi Inthanon - Mae Ya Waterfall
After breakfast (and the opportunity to enjoy local coffee in the village), you’ll be transferred to Doi Pha Tha Palace to begin the day’s ride. The ride starts with a warm-up before you hit a 13 km dirt road, followed by a mix of concrete roads with some small ascents and descents.
The ride concludes at Mae Ya Waterfall, where you can have a late lunch or take a swim. Finally, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Chiang Mai (approximately 1.5 – 2 hour drive).
Day 3 Highlights:
- Transfer to Doi Pha Tha Palace.
- Riding on a 13 km dirt road.
- Riding to Mae Ya Waterfall.
- Opportunity to swim at Mae Ya Waterfall.
